BPFA’s Annual Fit2point0 Summit is canceled. Rescheduling will be contingent on how this COVID-19 crisis unfolds. Participants, please read below for info on registration refunds and guidance with airline and hotel reservations.
The World Health Organization has just officially identified COVID-19 as a global pandemic. Global health experts tell us that our most powerful tool to protect those most vulnerable in our communities is to practice social distancing to “flatten the curve”. Flattening the curve of infection rates will help prevent our healthcare system from being overwhelmed as new cases develop.
As fitness professionals, the prospect of social distancing is a challenging one to face because so many of us rely on in-person appointments to pay the bills. Many #Fit2point0 Pros in our network offer online training options, so if you’re interested in learning about some tools to provide online training for your in-person clients during this time, please reach out. We would be happy to share ideas to help bring that into your practice to weather this storm.
BPFA would like to encourage organizers of other fitness conferences to consider canceling or moving online.
PARTICIPANTS – Thank you for registering for Summit! We’re so disappointed that we won’t see you in April. We will be reaching out to each of you to confirm your registration refund. The board has decided to cancel Summit with the hope of rescheduling the full 2-day event later this year. All planning is contingent on how the pandemic progresses. We have opted not to run an online version because making those in-person connections is one of the biggest perks of the event.
Flight cancelation info – As most companies have been canceling flights or have had cancelation requests world-wide, they have (for the most part) revised their policies for even non-refundable travel. Depending on the airline you have chosen, you should be able to reach out and receive a full refund or secure a voucher with no penalty for a future flight. Below is a list of links to each of the major airlines and their COVID-19 specific cancellation policies. All links were found through Forbe’s article titled: Here’s How to Cancel Travel Due to Coronavirus (airlines section is first):

Hotel Cancellation info – Call Hilton (1-877-214-6725) by Apr 14th, 2020, to avoid cancellation penalties. You may also go to your confirmation email from Hilton Honors and choose “modify reservation” in the body of the email to cancel if you prefer not to contact their customer service line.
We’re headed to the East Coast for the 3rd Annual Fit2point0 Professional Summit!
BPFA Fit2point0 Professional Community Members and individuals who have completed the BPFA Onramp to Inclusive Practices (or a previous equivalent) are invited for a weekend of networking, education, fellowship, and fun in the City of Brotherly Love!
As in years past, we are filling the weekend with engaging workshops led by BPFA Professionals. We’re also planning to spend some time in the ‘burbs at Power Plant Gym for some hands-on inclusive fitness sessions, putting our fit2point0 skills into practice.
There will be smaller breakout sessions with members of the BPFA fam on various topics throughout the weekend, as well as numerous opportunities to move and play.
We’re pumped to make 2020 our best Summit yet, and we can’t wait to see you there!
More details will be announced in the coming weeks, such as hotel room blocks and Summit pricing. (For reference, we’ll be in the same pricing ballpark as prior years.) A more detailed schedule of events for the weekend will hit this page in early 2020. But it’s safe to go ahead and save this date on your calendar, and plan to fly into Philadelphia Airport (PHL) if you’re excited to hang with the BPFA crew!

Frequently Asked Questions
In the spirit of embracing growth (Pillar 8!), BPFA is moving away from the practice of certifying fitpros as “Affiliated Professionals” and instead focusing on building a dynamic education network where Fit2point0 Professionals can come together to continue learning. Folks that join the Fit2point0 Pro Community are making a good faith commitment to uphold the Eight Pillars in their businesses and within the larger fitness world. Joining the community is not a stamp saying that you have learned everything and your work in this realm is done, rather it’s the first step in continuing on this growth path.
If you purchased a package that includes the Onramp to Inclusive Fitness Practices course, we will send you a code to sign up as well as instructions via email following confirmation of payment. Please be patient as it may take up to 48 hours to receive your code.
